SSMCH has got a well established department of orthopedics which runs under the able guidance of Dr. Y.A. Somasundar Prof. and HOD who has a vast clinical and teaching experience Dr. Somasundar and Dr. Kenchappa along with their qualified team trained at well known institutions like Bombay are taking care of patients both from rural and urban area.
The department staff operate all sort of trauma with well equipped operation theatre. Spine and interlocking operations are done routinely.
Both P.G Degree and diploma course are started from this academic year.
