Dept. of Surgery was established in the year 1990 under the guidance of so many senior and devoted professors like DR. Ramanujachar, Dr.Madaiah, Dr. Gopal, Dr. Vijayakantha, Dr. Channabasappa and Dr. Anantharaju. Now it is growing under the active and devoted guidance of Dr. G.M. Shiva Kumarappa who has been heading the dept. for the past 9 Yrs.
The Dept. is having 6 units with a independent urology and paediatric surgery units. The dept. has got endoscopic Unit in which there are radio endoscopy, laparoscopy and urology endoscopes. The Dept. has got post operative ward with ICU facilities. The P.G and junior consultants are available at all 24 hrs of the day.
The Dept. has got P.G students since 1999. Every year 3 P.G’s are admitted. Regular CME programmes, Seminars and case discussions will be held in the dept
